TonUINO, THE DIY music box (not only) for children
For a long time I was looking for a cheap and above all comfortable solution for a children's music box. Of course there are commercial solutions and there are already some DIY projects on the net. However, the commercial solutions are too inflexible for my taste and most DIY solutions are based on a Raspberry Pi and are usually quite bulky. In addition, none of these solutions has so far been able to offer a clever solution for programming the RFID cards.
The DFPlayer Mini already has a small mono amplifier. So you can drive a passive speaker directly and I think it even sounds really good! If that's not enough: the module also outputs a stereo signal. If you add a small amplifier, you can get even more sound and, above all, use two speakers as a stereo pair.
The TonUINO takes up so little space, you can, for example, install it directly in a passive bookshelf speaker. Otherwise there are no limits to your creativity. I'm curious about what ideas you come up with. Another advantage of the Arduino compared to a Raspberry Pi is that the Arduino is ready to start in 1-2 seconds and does not have to be shut down to switch it off. It uses significantly less electricity and can therefore be operated using a battery pack.
Hardware:
- Arduino Nano (if you work without my board you can also use a Uno or Mega)
- DFPlayer Mini
- RFID kit RC522
- A passive bookshelf speaker (unfortunately there is usually only a double pack) / any speaker
- Micro SD card (maximum 32 GB)
- some small things (cable, 1K resistor, buttons)
- (optional) a TonUINO board
